Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis

This is used in the evaluation of various gastrointestinal symptoms or systemic illnesses that may have started in the intestine. It is a valuable screen for all patients and frequently reveals critical imbalances previously unsuspected.

The four patterns of dysbiosis from bacterial overgrowth are Putrefaction, Fermentation, Deficiency and Sensitization. The CDSA uses metabolic markers to analyze digestion, colonic environment and absorption to determine which of the four patterns is involved. These metabolic markers are n-butyrate, beta-glucuronidase, pH, short-chain fatty acid distribution, and Fecal sIgA. The CDSA also involves an occult blood test, described below.

Intestinal dysbiosis is marked by these metabolic markers and calculated into a dysbiosis index to provide an evaluation of the patient’s GI tract. The CDSA enables therapeutic intervention based not only on single test results, but also on patterns and relationships. This test provides clinical insights not limited to the gastrointestinal system. This is very important because more than 50% of the immune systems takes its signals from the GI tract.
